About Us

The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) has been providing volunteer services in both Scott and Cape Girardeau Counties since 1973. RSVP involves those individuals 55 and over in volunteer service by matching their personal interests and making use of their lifelong skills and experiences - a valuable asset and resource that is utilized in our communities.

The Volunteer Intergenerational Center (VIC) which began July 1, 2002 recruits volunteers of all ages to strengthen our communities by mobilizing volunteer action and accelerating nonprofit success. This center connects individuals, nonprofits, and businesses with opportunities and resources needed to support local communities.

With integrating RSVP and VIC together, it is a well known fact that there is a tremendous power when young and old are united in meaningful, rewarding work. Together they build healthier, safer, more inclusive communities and in the end, make our country stronger and a better place to live.

The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and the Volunteer Intergenerational Center (VIC) are services of Aging Matters, formaly the Southeast Missouri Area Agency on Aging.
